The European online travel platform holidaypirates.com has doubled its sales for domestic travel since 2019. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic travel accounted for about 20% of total business activity. This increased to 40% in the first quarter of 2021.

The pandemic has changed the way consumers get inspired and seek out holidays. For the time being, vacations at home take the place of vacations abroad.
